Though all of Rick's experiences as a professional drummer is far too numerous to mention, highlights would include; having his book (Rick's Licks) ranked in the top ten of Modern Drummers 'Top 25 Greatest Drum Books" by LARRIE LONDIN and KENNY ARONOFF, being on the cover of Drums Etc. first issue, having his material implemented in CARMINE APPICE's updated-version book, Realistic Rock (one of the best selling drum books of all time), recording with fantastic artists such as PATTI LABELLE, MICHELLE WRIGHT and TERRI CLARK, sharing the stage with STEVE SMITH, SONNY EMORY and KIRK COVINGTON at Drum Fest '94 in Montreal, teaching a master class with the likes of GARY CHAFFEE, STEVE HOUGHTON, WALFREDO REYES SR. and JOEY HEREDIA at Drum Fest '99, having performed various drum clinics, plus master classes in the Black Forest (Germany) at M & T Drum Camp with MAUREEN BROWN, MITCH DORGE and LUCAS VAN MERWIJK.
Rick has shared the stage with BELA FLECK & THE FLECKTONES (with the great VICTOR WOOTEN), performing at the Molson Amphitheater in Toronto with ALEX LIFESON from Rush, CAPTIN BEEFHEART, MICHAEL URBANIAK (with the great ANTHONY JACKSON on bass), and opened for ROBERT PALMER in the 80's with the band Lincolns. Rick's students have included ANTON FIG (David Letterman Show) and JEREMY TAGGERT (Our Lady Peace) amidst many other outstanding drummers. Rick also had the pleasure of recording the first ever direct-to-disk album with Rough Trade (1974), produced by JACK RICHARDSON (Guess Who). Rick played on a track for the Miami Vice Show (guest starring PHIL COLLINS) as well as the title track of THE BOOMERS 2nd CD (Art of Living) on Bay Watch. Rick is currently working with the award winning MAUREEN BROWN (with Big Hand) and is helping out HILARY JONES (with Robben Ford) and teaching DAN STADNICKI (Serial Joe). As a studio musician, Rick has also performed on numerous jingles for companies such as Coke, McDonalds and Ford.
