Mimmo Campanale

Born in 1963, self- taught.
In 1985 there was his first approaches to Jazz with the constitution of the group "Jazzerie" with Maurizio Quintavalle and Nico Stufano, with whome he recorded two albums.
In 1991 he took part to the realization of Nico Stufano's album "Trace of Jazz" and three recordings by Davide Santorsola "Tambor Sagrado", "Be Tune" with Phil Woods as special guest and "To Bill Evans" with Lee Konitz.
In the same time he is active as session man with some Pop music artists such as Novecento, Marco Armani, Tosca, Billy Preston, Dirotta su Cuba, etc.

In the '90s he participates to some jazz festivals such as "Jazz in Italy", Orsara Jazz, Italia Jazz St.Louis (Roma), All That Fusion - Bari (as opening act to Michael Brecker, Bill Frisell and Mike Stern), Bordighera Jazz Blues.
During his career he has palyed with several Italian and foreign musicians such as: Maurizio Giammarco, Laura Fedele, Roberto Ottaviano, Umberto Fiorentino, Louis Agudo, Tiziana Ghiglioni, Phil Woods, Gianni Coscia, Gianni Basso, Bruno Marini, Lee Konitz, Peggy Stern, Dario Deidda, Rosario Jermano, Maurizio Caldura, Salvatore Bonafede, Jay Rodriguez, Attilio Zanchi, Eric Daniel, Marco Sannini, Mario Rosini, Furio Di Castri, Bruno De Filippi, Emanuele Cisi, Maria Pia De Vito, Bobby Watson, Franco Cerri, Benny Golson, Stefano D'Anna, John Hicks, Dave Liebman , Jessie Davis, Rossana Casale.

Actually he is working with Jazzerie, Nico Stufano Trio, Davide Santorsola Trio, Abrasileirado Sextet, Mario Rosini Group, etc.
