I am a percussionist more than a "straight" drummer, sitting behind a kit. I play mostly jazz and until I heard you, I thjought Carl Palmer and Billy Cobham were the two drummers who got the most out of their kits. I took a couple masters classes from Billy while in college back in the '70's, also worked with Tony Williams and Max Roach, before their untimely passings. Other than that, mostly I have stuck mostly with mastering as many percussion instruments as possible, from around the world, primarily those of the Yoruba and Ibo people of Nigeria and the Ashanti of Ghana. Favorite site to play: Central Park weekends during the summer months. Your techniques fascinate me I must say, keep those solo pieces coming!!
