Dave Chavarri was born in Lima, Peru, South America, and moved to New Jersey in the U.S. at age 11. At the age of 17 he recorded his first record, and began his 18 year career. Today, Chavarri has been concentrating his efforts as founder, and principle member in his present project, Ill Nino (Roadrunner/Universal). Ill Nino’s debut release Revolution-Revolucion was released on September 18th, 2001, and was produced and engineered by Chavarri himself. Since the birth of Ill Nino, the band has sold over 750,000 units Worlwide on both releases “Revolution-Revolucion”, and “Confession” and has performed over 650 shows to date, with such acts as Ozzy Osbourne, Tool, Drowning Pool, Sevendust, P.O.D., System of a Down, Slayer, and Soulfly. Chavarri has recorded and performed live with the following bands: Soulfly (Roadrunner/Universal), ProPain (Energy/Edel), M.O.D (Megaforce/Atlantic), Laaz Rockit (Capitol/Enigma), Merauder (Century Media), and Gothic Slam (Epic/Torrid).
To date, Chavarri has performed over 2500 shows in countries all over the world, including U.S., Japan, Australia and Europe, and has been showcased in such magazines as Modern Drummer, Drums, Metal Edge, R.I.P., Kerrang, Metal Hammer, and Circus. In addition, Chavarri has also appeared in several music videos and been interviewed by MTV-2, Fuse (Uranium), Kerrang TV, and many other music shows. For the rest of 2004, Chavarri and Ill Nino will continue touring Worldwide, in support of their Sophomore release “Confession”.
