The snap is an alternative stroke that drummers don’t use very often. You play the snap at the rim of the drum (usually a frame drum). Performing this stroke is as easy as snapping your fingers. In fact, you do snap your finger (didn’t I say it was easy?). What makes this into a drum stroke is that you snap your finger into the rim of the drum. Go easy, though. You don’t need to snap very hard to get a loud sound.
