Traditionally jazz is an improvisational art form, where the music being performed is an interacton with other musicians; reacting to soloists, comping patterns, bass lines, time feels, song forms, even structuring the tune itself as it is being played, This can only be found in live performances, and that perhaps is the reason that no jazz tune is ever performed exactly the same way twice.

The feel and mood of the players affects the tune, and that leads to lots of improvisations around some basic musical statement.
