I can see why you have a bit of expertise (really more than a bit, I'm sure) in foot pedal use.  That's quite a set up you have illustrated.

I intend to work on your recommended variations, and am looking forward to how it works out for me.

Last question:  Your not really 79 years old, are you?

Smiley to tell you the truth I visit my own page very seldom so I actually noticed this today:) No Im 43 - need to change that Grin

Regarding the "expertise" I dont know. I just wanted to find a more comfortable, accurate and reliable way of playing single stroke rolls.

I have reason to believe that there are a few guys doing this already but it has not ben presented or demonstrated yet. Similar things have ben done with one foot for instance Freddy Grubers method taught by Steve Smith, Mike Packer has done very interesting work in that area as well. But they did not attemt syncronising the strokes for both feet.

There are a couple of cuban guys that I suspect are doing this.

In addition to those excercices its good to work on one foot at a time and then syncronize them just like one would do with the hands and I just added another exercise sheet for that.

Completely agree! - This post deserves to be right in the Drum Techniques section!

So I started it up already:

Hmm... For some reason the article was removed from the wiki section... Do you want me to check the server logs and to restore it? Or in case you have removed it yourself, do you want me to remove all the links pointing to it from other pages on DSA Huh?

Well as I see Gunnar decided to cancel his account, so in order to make it less confusing to other users, I will go on and remove the links pointing to the article entitled "Heel Toe single stroke rolls" as the article does not exist anymore...

Gunnar, if you are reading this, you were a valuable part of this community and I am sorry to see you go... Sad

PASHA

Why don't you send Gunnar an email and see what happened.  Computer glitches happen and if that's what happened in this case we need to restore the information.  It was very informational IMHO

If there is another reason.......well......you need to know about that too.

I did, and frankly I still can not understand what went wrong...

In any case from the discussion with Gunnar (aka patafla) I started to get the feeling that one of my replies has actually offended him, and because I highly and equally value all the members of Drum Solo Artist, I decided to restrict my self from "jumping in to every conversation", so from now on I will enter a discussion only if a discussion requires moderation, or someone asks a question that is directed specifically to me.

I am sorry, but I had to take some steps to ensure something like this does not happen again....

Cheers.

I think there has been a rash of misunderstandings over a couple of matters and I would like to ask Gunnar to return and privately express himself to everyone involved so this can be resolved.

I know I will miss him if he doesn't return.

Tomm,

YOU WROTE: "I think there has been a rash of misunderstandings over a couple of matters and I would like to ask Gunnar to return and privately express himself to everyone involved so this can be resolved."
PM me if you were able to contact him.  He is, indeed, missed on the DSA Forum and I certainly would like to see him back sharing posts and comments.

I want to say that I am very saddened to hear about the economic detress in Iceland.  I am sure that musicians are especially affected by this.  I only wish I had a doable solution to resolve these sorts of problems.

I, however, am glad you see you back on the DSA website again.  Your experience and insights provide a lot of reasons for readers to THINK and to ANALYZE their own thoughts.  Your influence is very important, especially to aspiring young drummers.  I believe you are the kind of man who will be encouraged to share more thoughts because of that.

Deepest and most sincere regards!
