:question
Can anyone tell me why drummers, particularly in military marching, put both sticks under their noses as part of their drumming display??

This isnt something that i fully know the reason. But their is loads of things in the military that dosnt make sence.
Like after fireing a round of ammunition with a rifle, you are commanded to put up the dust cup, and then cock the weopon to only put the dust cap up again. I asked why i must put the dust cap up the first time becuase it was pointless, and the commander only said that they never simplify things in the military because something could go wrong.
Ok, its a far reach to put that in with the nose thing, but what im trying to say is that they did it a very long time ago, and never simplified it.
I probably didnt help much.
