When an untoppable force meets and unmovable object

Hi everyone!
I've been in a band for amost a year and a half now, and Were getting pretty good. Our problem is that we have thought and thought but we can't think of a band name...

If anyone has some cool suggestions for a Led Zeppelin/60's rock band, that would be great Cheesy Grin

Ill think a bit and post back when i get time.

ok...

Trigger
Trident
magneto
Sanctum
Zephyr
Zodiac
The Swatch

But as Pegasus says, it is best to find your own name. It doesn't take much to find one. You just have to look out for them  Wink

That aint bad. W'er called the The Purple Sky. I think "the" titles are pretty much back in fashion (as mush of a fashion as you can have for band names). I could be plain and say "the name of you band doesn't matter, its the music that counts". And its true, but people can be very prejudging, and if your names lame, people wont be very attracted to your band.

Hell knows how "YOUR CODE NAME IS:MILO" worked with it.

Welcome braxton!

This is kinda funny watching these, hah.  But I've seen two extremes when it comes to band names.

There's the

Dont care people.  I read the background on a band called "The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus."  They said that they thought that thining hard to find a good band name is a waste of time and that time should be spent on music.  In other words, think of something in five minutes and be done with it.

and the

Names are everything people.  I've read bios on bands that have given a lot of thought to band names.  They stress originality and "coolness."  People have come up with really awesome names like "Switchfoot" and "My Chemical Romance" which are awesome names, and have some meaning behind them

In my opinion, band names are cool and should have some sort of story/meaning.  It can be anything in the world.  I mean, c'mon.  Who would have thought of "Green Day" or "The Beatles," or "Foghat."  They probably looked retarded when they were new, but now they're all famous and the names are a trade mark.

So be original, thats the coolest thing a band can do in terms of a name.

Hope I helped...

Nicely said!

I think a lot about band names. I don't know what i look for, but i wanna like the sound of it. So yea, it might be a 'cool' thing.

But when it some down to it, anything will sound good when it is said enough and related to good things.

G'Day, The trouble with not having a band name is that if you don't when you play at pubs and other places the first thing punters ask when you get off stage is "Whats the bands name?" sure is wrong to say "Don't have one yet!", My bands said that and people just look at you blankly.

Me band found it very difficult to find a name that everyone likes, I reckon session players sounds good to me lol.

the band I'am in is called Steam, until we find some thing better good to have any name than no name

Good luck
