Title: THE GROUPS TAB
Post by: KenSanders on January 08, 2010, 01:11:59 PM
Where is ithe GROUPS tab?  Well, it is in the very top bar line   just to the left and above the "Drum Live" tab (which is in the second bar line).

It's a “still evolving” spin-off feature from our popular DSA Forum .  The GROUPS tab currently takes you to 7 existing groups, some of which, may be of interest to you.

It is certainly not intended to ever replace the DSA Forum, but rather to allow members with a deeper interest in certain musical genres, or other drum-related topics; to form a sub-group of DSA members to focus exclusively on those types of topics in greater detail.

The six currently active groups are:

The Double Bass Group
For those with an interest in double bass drum playing.  It's a great place to converse, share tips, tricks and practice methods.

New Drummers Corner
This is a great place for new drummers to ask questions; get all sorts of insights about drums and drumming; with helpful answers and advice from veteran performing drummers.  There is no need to ever be  embarrassmed by participating in this group.  Everyone has to learn.  It is there to help new drummers and all questions are handled with serious respect.

Jazz and More
This DSA group is a place for drummers interested in Jazz.... whether it's Traditional, Fusion, Bebop, Blues or any other Jazz influenced music. This is a place where you can discuss those concepts with other interested drummers.  And even if you don’t play jazz it’s perhaps interesting from a drum set history perspective.

Afro Traditions
Discuss modern and traditional concepts, ask questions, share, debate, anything regarding Afro percussion from around the world.

Hand Drum Players

Hey, it's all about Cajons, Djembes, Bongos, Congas, etc.  Talk about hand drums, techniques, rhythms, songs.   Share your drum pics!

Drum Solo Audio and Video
This group allows members to submit free audio and video downloads for all to hear and view and freely download.

It seems to me that someone would perhaps want to consider a HARD ROCK AND METAL PLAYERS GROUP; or maybe an ALTERNATIVE MUSIC GROUP.  A WORLD MUSIC GROUP might also be of interest to some members.

MORE COWBELL!   :D
