Looks good, but do you have to be part of a band recording albums to enter? Thanks.

No you dont! - All you need to have is the record of yourself playing drums!

Hope that helps.

Ouch!
I wish I played drums!

Well... I do... a little, but not good enough for a competition, sadly.
Eh, you the lucky drummers...

Well... Let me tell something that concerns EVERYBODY that comes to the site:

1) DrumSoloArtist.com has promoted and helped drummers since day one of its appearance on the net!

2) Me or anybody else that was/is involved with the site HAS NEVER and WILL NEVER ask for anything in return for what we do/have done over here! - That is just the site philosophy, - I did not start the site to get rich from it or to "get something" from users/visitors of DrumSoloArtist.com. Again, DrumSoloArtist.com is here to help All Drummers anyway we (the community) can! - There is no catch, and NONE of the people that is involved with DSA is waiting for anything in return.- We just do it because we care and we can!

Now just think about it... - Do you really think that if I started this contest I would have thoughts of taking this money away from another drummer? (If I would not want to give away this money I wouldn't even start this drum solo contest to begin with.) [sounds logical??]

To me the whole contest looks like a giveaway! - Just come and get it! No politics no strings attached no obligations no nothing, just be good and take the prizes.

It does not get any better than this, trust me on that, cause I know (been to a few contests myself  ;) )

Hope that clears it.

PS: feel free to throw me any-other questions you may have...

So, I'm gathering that we can't just submit our YouTube vid's.

Is that correct?

Even if we could, I'm leaving for basic training in a couple of days, so I can't really get too involved here.

Still, here's my contribution, for giggles: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VFFDzDoUcC8

Sweet.

Just to make it clear:

You can submit anything you want, (as long as you have played the track your self)

Hope that helps ;)

The sonic quality may work against you - the sound is so distorted that the subtleties of your playing are swallowed and difficult to assess. But then again, I really like like what you do and can only encourage you to go through the motions of uploading the clip to the competition. You lock the feet in beautifully and, yes, the foot-triggered cowbell is wicked. Truely enjoyed watching. Keep it up!
