Title: First Announcement - How it works!
Post by: PASHA on June 29, 2007, 01:39:03 PM
How it works:

All Drummers are welcome to submit THEIR OWN recorded compositions (SOLOS) to Drum Solo Artist and enter the 2007 Drum Solo Competition (http://www.drumsoloartist.com/competition/2007/index.php).

To Apply all you have to do is to submit your Drum Solo at:

Again - It is Free and it is for Everyone out there, meaning that we dont ask for your Tour schedule or the Recording Company Contract to enter! Every Drummer is welcome!

NOTE: We will be checking EVERY submission manually and we will be requiring a proof of ownership of ALL the subjective submissions!

After you have submitted your Drum Solo, and your submission has been activated, your track will appear at the Drum Solo Competition Chart and will be available to users for listening and voting.

At the end of the competition we will announce the 3 winners that will get the prizes!

First prize - $1.000.00
Second prize - $500.00
Third prize - $250.00

Note we are still working on the finalizing the prizes, so currently we Only announced what has been set already, but dont be surprised IF we will throw in a full blown drum set to every winning competitor (just as a small bonus  ;) )

When will it start?
That will be announced First of July 2007

Can I apply already? Before it has been started?
Absolutely! - You can apply for the Drum Solo Contest as soon as your Drum Solo is ready to be uploaded!

Does it have to be a Video?
No it does not have to be a video, you can submit an MP3, but we do recommend submitting videos cause  a video recording has more effect on the general public, and that can influence your future rating...

What about the recording quality? - Does it have to be a "Studio Recording"?
No, it does not have to be studio quality, but again the recording quality will probably influence your future rating, so just try to make it as good as possible.

Do you plan to remove any submitted tracks after the competition will end or will they stay forever in the Competition and Drum Solos sections?
Yes we reserve the right to remove your track after the competition will end if we think that your track is not appropriate for our Drum Solos section. - This rule does not affect the competition winners.

Nothing major here just wanted to let you know that the contests URL has changed (trying to keep it clean) so please update your bookings, the new URL is:
http://www.drumsoloartist.com/competition/2007/index.php (http://www.drumsoloartist.com/competition/2007/index.php)

Thank you and good luck!

Title: New Rules
Post by: PASHA on July 31, 2007, 01:12:20 PM
Ok, here are some new rules!

I just found out that one of the users has cheated by voting multiple times for his own solo!
As you know we do allow anyone to vote in all the multimedia sections (including the competitions) and WE ONLY ALLOW 1 VOTE PER USER PER SOLO, so please dont get smart, and try voting more than once (even if you have 10 different computers at home) - the system will see the cheating and you are risking to be taken off the competition! - It is just as simple as that!

Again anyone is welcome to vote for any solo on drum solo artist, including your own, but if you will cheat by trying to find ways to vote multiple times for any solo out there, you will be taken off the competition and you are risking to loose your access to www.drumsoloartist.com altogether! - That will happen without a prior notice!

If you feel that your votes are not high enough, I would suggest uploading a better solo! (to replace the current one)

Thank you.
