Title: LOOKING FOR ADVICE ON BUYING CYMBALS? READ THIS...
Post by: Smelly_granny on June 11, 2007, 01:27:02 PM
If your looking for a new set of cymbals, or a new crash, ride or hi hats, then WE CANT HELP YOU.

Cymbals are very personal things, and everyone has different likes and dislikes when it comes to sounds. So we cant give you advice on decent sounding cymbals and be sure that you will like them.

If you want to find a good sounding cymbal, go to your nearest drum/music store and hit things untill you find something you like and is within your budget. Then buy it. That way, you are more likely to not waste money on something you don't like.

However, if your looking for TRASHY chinas, splashes or crashes, take a look at Wuhan Cymbals (http://www.wuhancymbals.com/)
(I can give advice on trashy stuff because you only get one kind of trashy...and that's trashy. Anything else comes in huge different kinds and types)

The advice in Smelly Granny's locked topic regarding selecting cymbals is right-on-point.   ;)

In conjuction with that, I wrote a blog for DSA that may provide some additional ideas for folks picking out a new set of cymbals.  If you're interested, the link is:
