Title: Neal Morse, Overture #4 - Drum Cover
Post by: Progressiveman on July 18, 2011, 06:43:22 PM
Hey Guys,
I recently recorded myself on my phone playing overture #4 By Neal Morse. I'm playing it just like Portnoy recorded it. That was the intention!

Anyway, i just thought i'd share it with you guys. =) Any feedback is genuinely appreciated!

Thanks!

Very good work with the drumming.  I liked the camera angles so I could see your hands and feet.  The mix of the drums was a bit muddy, but that it not a criticism of your playing, only of the sound quality.

Thanks for posting this.  I really enjoying watching and listening to it.

Hey man,
Very cool. I hadn't heard this piece until now. I like the way you play, nice controlled "economy of motion". I think the quality is actually pretty good for a phone, especially the video quality. How exactly did you record this? What kind of phone? How did you get the different angles?
What can you tell us about those stacked cymbals over your floor tom? They're a cool sound.
