Title: Drums by Benny
Post by: Tomm on September 25, 2010, 09:32:47 PM
Going to a drum clinic by Benny Greb tomorrow with my Son (AKA here as Beat Psychic)  We did one with Dave Weckl a couple of years ago, well worth the 2 hour drive...same for tomorrow, two hours of Carter and Dave for the trip.

Yeah, his demo work was really good, although it didn't include much of his vocal work.  If you know his work then you know he does a lot of over-dub of scat oriented vocals.  He is a very good groove artist and his solo work is dead on.  He spoke on drum tuning and types of cymbals, as well as his signature sand cymbals.  After the show, he met us at Tins and Skins in Champaign, Ill. and signed posters and took photos with everyone individually.  He has a good sense of humor too, a lot of laughs throughout.
