hey, i was wondering if anyone could tel me how to tune  toms to get the sound that most drumers in heavy metal used in the 80s i.e wasp motley crue etc, im thinking  that you tune the bottom head higher than the top but im nt sure to what degree, if anyone culd sugest heads too that would be cool,

Well if you are looking for a BIG sound with less echo than the bottom skin should be tuned pretty loose, the tighter you tune the skins the higher the sound + more echo. For deeper "compressed" sound use thicker bottom skins tuned very loose.
