Nice Thread idea!

Also, i gotta say, your band was pretty good. For a group that aint been playing that long, you were sweet. I loved goodbye. you've got some proper nice riffs in there, and it fits together well. A few things let it down tho. Mainly, it was your timing. In what i will call your "Bridge" (where you hit the crash every 4 beats), you were badly going out of time, and its easy to do on a song as slow as that. Just play to a click track, and that will sort it out.  Also, because your not in a recording studio, you need to play your drums bit more quietly. Try opening your high hat a bit too so you get a little bit of sizzel.

High Voltage was quite good too. I liked how you experimented with different sounds in there. (Not too sure about doing 8th's on the bell of the ride. Try moving to the body of the ride, or a slightly open hihat). Again timing was a bit out, but still a decent tune.

But other than that, im very impressed! Definetly keep going with that.  Wink

I mite put my Samba band stuff on if i can get hold of the more recently recorded tracks.

Were you?  Grin sorry lol

Its just on every time you end your verse and hit the crash 8 times with 4 beats between each one, you speed up on your last 4 hits. Try tapping your foot with the song and you should notice.

lol, i think your thinking of a different bit of the song. The part im talking about has no snare in it.

The first one you do starts 49 seconds into the song. You have anouther at 1:42 as well

Try relaxing, yea. Its a mistake thats easy to make. When there is nothing playing, people panic and think their gonna miss the beat, so play the part too early. I would suggest just getting a cheap digital metronome that has a earphone plug would be best, and just have headohones on when you play.

Well give me time, I am recording our material and we have, I mean I have only one song left and one 2 - 3 minute solo, I actually tried something today but my ideas  did not work (at least I dont like what I hear), so I will have to come up with something else to replace all I have recorded for this song... Anyway as soon as I will finish I will post some samples.

Hey, Bass Drum, I just looked at your site there and I listen too the two songs. I really like your songs the only thing for me is on High Voltage, in the begenning, what I think you wait a bit longer long then come in. you should come in after the thrid guitar thing. when you come do the bass drum (Without snare) but a bit faster, make it like 6-8 hit then the chorus or what ever you call it. I think that well let the people your playing for jump up and down. But that is just me.  Smiley  again great job on the songs.

I like them, keep it up, BUT...

One advice: Spend more time with the metronome.

Hey Guys.  This is my first post on the forum.  The site looks great Cheesy.  Check my band out at www.Myspace.com/RhythmSpectacular.  We're an acoust rock Duo.  Its just me on drums and background vocals, and an acoustic guitar player on lead vocals.  The instruments were recorded live and the vocals were tracked.  Hope you like it!!  8-)
Thanks, John

That new song on your myspace kind of reminds me of a post-rock band called Mogwai. Your myspace says tell you who you sound like so thats who I came up with. You should definatley check them out

Oo man its all good here! Thats pretty good for some noobs(no offence its a propper term lol) It was good. Two things.

1. You slowed down. on all 3. big time.

2. They're good riffs, but its kinda repedative.

Its good though!
