This is just a short note from me to you, whoever you may happen to be. I am by no means the smartest bulb, but here is on thing that I have learned along the may and would hope that somebody, somewhere will get something out of it. OK. Once you have decided that you want to do a drum solo and you have listened to other drummers and have practiced a lot, what then? How do you decide what to play? How do you play it? Out of the fusion drummers, I particularly like (besides Tony) Billy Cobham, Dave Weckl, and Dennis Chambers. They each play different and have unique styles of soloing. I have of course listened to all the others, but these and the ones mentioned earlier are the ones that influenced me the most.
