Originally from South Carolina, I played in the Columbia and Charleston metros performing rock originals with Heroes. Next stop Atlanta, where I played delta and Texas blues with The Famous Hoods before joining Kingsized, a seven piece lounge-core band that earned critical praise and notoriety performing swing, jump blues, soul, torch and originals throughout the southern crescent. Between gigs, I split my time between Atlanta and Nashville, playing songwriter show cases with country artist, Greta Lee and producing music for the advertising industry. My live work with Greta Lee helped capture Best Country Artist, in Creative Loafing-Atlanta's 1998 survey. In the same period, my swing drumming was a factor in Creative Loafing-Atlanta's critical and popular awards to Kingsized for Best Live Act, Best Swing Band, and Best Rockabilly/Surf Band, establishing Kingsized's growing dominance while forging their reputation for record-breaking grosses at the local clubs.
Currently, I reside in Portland, performing and/or recording with Jennifer Lynn, Joshua James and The Runaway Trains, The Greg Earl Band, The Ward Stroud Band, Karaoke From Hell, The Reverb Brothers, The Blue Vein Miners, Jen and Tonic, John Soller's Blues Train, One Hit Wonders & Guilty Pleasures, and sit in with The Fenix Project, and Pilar French Intention. I am a member of The Last Regiment Of Syncopated Drummers, a marching drum corps dedicated to funky street beats and military cadences. In addition to teaching drums, I have joined the educational troupe Recycleman And The Dumpster Divers, a conservation-awareness band that performs a la "Schoolhouse Rock" at public schools and special events.
I’ve appeared as a journeyman with Robbie Laws, Franco Paletta and The Stingers, Marquee, and The Push Rods. I've received the Cascade Blues Association Muddy Award for Best New Band 2004 with Hoodoo Nation, and a Muddy Nomination for Recording Of The Year 2006 with The Ward Stroud Band.
I am available for performance and studio work at vince@vinceadame.com.
