Tons of books; I read a lot. Lately I've read stuff by Micheal Cricton, Wilbur Smith, Jon Ambercrombie, Jack Whyte, Andre Dumas....I could go on & on.

Great sound (drum or otherwise), listening to music that I like (could be just about any genre), real food, watching or listening to drummers more skilled than I am, my wife, being in a solid groove, those rare instinctive moments when you & the bass player or guitarist make the same exact rhythmic break, Direct (live) to 2 track recordings, watching or listening to a group of excellent musicians in perfect sync/groove/tune/vibe.

arrogance, braggarts, windbags, fake maple syrup, margarine, drum lugs that always detune, boring, uninspired music, the latest trend in small, smaller, smallest drum sets no matter what the music may call for, the stereotype that suggests that drummers are mindless idiots who just pound on the drums.

I've been playing since about 1980. My "style", if you could call it that, would be a sort of funky jazz fusion rock-ish kind of thing. I play using a traditional grip for everything. I admire drummers like Peter Erskine, Gene Krupa, Neil Peart, Bill Bruford, Rayford Griffin, Andy Newmark, Steve Gadd, Casey Scheurell, Steve Smith, Mike Portnoy, etc, etc.
I have a son who plays bass and shares a lot of my other interests. I also have the best wife in the world!
