Prior to James joining the Scorpions, He was doing much freelance work playing for a number of jard rock and metal artists including Warrant, LA Blues Authority, Axxis, Bruce Dickinson, Bobby Neal, and Paul Shortino. James also formed and leads his own side project named "Krunk" Krunk's Greatest Hits was recently released in 2004.
