Zeuren attended The City University of New York (Graduate program in Jazz Composition) during the late 80's at which time he met and performed with more of the Jazz world's most prodigious members....Jimmy Heath, Freddie Hubbard, Ron Carter etc..
For the past 15 years he has performed on numerous jingles, Broadway shows, CD's and albums as a sideman and in the early 90's recorded his first CD as a leader.
Entitled "Zeuren", the CD was released in 1996 on the Monad Jazz label and met with instant acclaim. It remained on the national jazz charts for many weeks and eventually reached the top 25, nationwide. "Zeuren" was featured during the month of November 1996, on Puerto Rico's largest jazz radio station, that of the University of El San Juan, as part of the celebration of Puerto Rico's "National Month of Percussion". In addition, "Zeuren" was chosen as "Star CD of the Month" for the July 97 issue of "Le Jazz" (Paris, France) and more recently, Chuck's professional experiences have been featured in an article in the Feb./March 1998 issue of "Jazz Player Magazine". Whatever the project, he has continuously received praise from both fellow musicians and critics alike.
Along with touring throughout Europe and the US and recording with his own band, Zeuren continues to work as a sideman with some of the world's most renown jazz musicians....He recently performed on world renown jazz drummer/vocalist Grady Tate's latest CD and performed on and wrote string arrangements for a CD due out soon which features the late great jazz vocalist, Etta Jones. In addition, a Zeuren led quintet session entitled "Why Not??" has been recently released on the RED RECORDS label to numerous rave reviews.....check them out!
