In 2001, he produced a CD by Grupo Cuero y Cajon that he recorded during his first trip to Cuba. Nolan's own recorded playing can be found on many CD's such as those by Marimbira (a Boston Afropop band) and percussionist N. Scott Robinson. Currently, he is an ethnomusicology graduate student at Tufts University, teaches and performs in the New England area, and works with CalabashMusic.com. Between studying, performing, and teaching, Nolan manages the e-group "LatinPerc."
