Joey was persistent, and they struck a bargain. He could follow his musical path - if he kept his grades up. On his 16th birthday Joe's tenacity paid off and his parents relented and finally bought his a Slingerland drumset. He immediately began practicing to Blood, Sweat & Tears, Chicago, and Tower of Power records.
Joey's versitile, accomplished playing has led to a wealth of different projects with artists like Sheila E, Scott Henderson, Sergio Mendez, Herb Alpert, Diane Reeves, and Strunz and Farah to name a few. He has also served as Musical Director for Jennifer Paige,
Joey Heredia's own studio, Joey's Studio, has been used by a variety of artists including Jimmy Haslip, Billy Childs, Larry Antonino, and Hubert Laws. The studio features an array of equipment including a huge assortment of snare drums, kick drums, and cymbals. Joey also claims that his studio has the best live drum sound this side of hell!
