Chris Nugent discovered drums at the age of ten. Soon realising that anything he hit made some sort of noise, he had chosen his path through life. After being trained classically, he started playing drums in jazz groups and big bands at the age of 12. A few years and many school dinners later, Mr Nugget was awarded Drummer of The Year after graduating with a distinction from The Academy of Contemporary Music.
Chris has played two sold out nights at The Royal Albert Hall and performed live on BBC Radio 2, as well as supporting bands such as Megadeth, Aynsley Lister, Pitchshifter, Living Colour and The Workhorse Movement.
Playing drums with many musical projects including Mikey Graham (Boyzone), Fat Controller, Marcus Malone (Detroit, USA) and Heat (Original Rock Band from Guildford), he takes inspiration from drummers such as Keith Moon (Who), Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers), Nicko McBrain and Simon Philips.
After playing during Omar Hakim's recent clinic tour of the UK, and a performance at the BOSPOP festival (Weert, Holland) Chris has recently assumed the role of Tico Torres in Bon Giovi (Bon Jovi tribute band), and is currently gigging, recording and teaching drums.
